San Siro stadium: the big summer shows
The stadium is the stage for the summer’s event concerts. It is served by the M5 at San Siro Stadio. The areas worth staying in are San Siro and Lotto to walk home, Fiera and CityLife for more shops and restaurants, or any point along the M5 to spend less while staying on a direct line.

A short distance from San Siro, the racecourse hosts festivals and large open-air concerts through the summer. Being in the same western area, the same advice applies as for the stadium: staying west means getting home without crossing the city in the small hours.
Getting home after the show
Summer concerts finish late and the whole audience leaves at once: the nearest station backs up. Anyone staying on the west side walks home while everyone else waits. If you are staying in the centre, check the last departure before you go out.

When to book
On big concert dates the western side sells out fast. The practical rule is to book as soon as the official date is announced, not as soon as you have the ticket — because by then everyone else is doing exactly that.
